The next step is to take your home based business idea and turn it into a business plan.  By creating a business plan about your home based business idea, you can organize your ideas and goals.  You also will need a business plan about your home based business idea if you are looking to secure a small business loan.  There are numerous resources out there to help you write a business plan on your home based business idea that will help you get financing if you should need it.

et Practice And The Internet Entrepreneur

 by: Elizabeth Piotrowski

Internet marketing, a lot of the time really is hit and miss. Always keep in mind that when you promote your site you are, in effect trying to get the word out to the whole world. Not an easy task! How can there NOT be variables when you are advertising to billions? It isn’t always where you advertise that makes the difference; it’s HOW.

First and foremost, it is SO important to have effective ad copy. Without it, you truly are wasting your time and money. Along with effective ads, it’s imperative that you have variety! Don’t advertise all over the place with the same ad. The surfer of today seems to get bored very quickly, so it’s important to pique their curiosity as often as possible.

Rotate your ads - this means, that if you post to ffa.net with Ad A on Monday, you will post to that site with Ad B on Tuesday. And track your ads so you know which ones are getting the most clicks. Once you know this, you can scratch the less-effective ads off your list, and write new and improved versions.

The time of day you submit can also make a difference. You have to test/track this as well. Try different times of the day, different days of the week, and different ads on each site. See how your ads do when you advertise once a week, twice a week or every day. It’s a lot of work!

I have found ffas to be quite effective. Now, before you say “UGH!” let me tell you - ffas aren’t the only advertising method that generate mounds of email! If you don’t like the idea of submitting to individual ffa pages, try a database submitter, like worldsubmitter.com or mymegasubmitter.com. Your ad can be on thousands of sites in minutes. And don’t forget to set up a ‘junk’ email account BEFORE you post to the ffas, or you will be in trouble!

Next are the safelists. I submit to under 40 safelists daily, but receive over 1000 emails in each of my 7 mailboxes every 2 days! The point is, whether you use ffas or safelists, you cannot escape a full inbox :) Safelist examples are adtactics.com and mbpsafelist.com, and they get pretty good results if your headline is effective. If you can, try a sponsor ad (your ad at the top of every email sent to the safelist) - incredible results, but only for the first 3 or 4 days - I noticed a loss of interest shortly thereafter.

The list goes on and on - start page programs, banner exchanges, reciprocal links, classified ads, ezine advertising - try all of the above. Find the mix that works best for you. And, when it stops working, either drop it entirely or mix differently. Eventually you will find a winning combination.

Many people go the simple route when they are naming their home based business - they use their own name.  This is a simple way of naming your home based business, but not necessarily the most memorable way.  Some experts have said that using your own name in naming your home based business, because it makes the business look like a “mom-and-pop” organization.  If this is the feeling you want to portray in naming your home based business, then, by all means, use it.

We all understand the importance of doing business properly which means shaking hands with your prospects, you may be asking yourself how can you do that electronically through a computer??

Let me tell you exactly how to do it from your very own home computer…..

Let me tell you exactly how to do it from your very own home computer…..

First of all you need to register with an online community now there are various ones such as MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AOL and many more which can all give you access to millions of prospects online that you can effectively promote your business opportunity too.

I reccomend AOL the reason being is that it is one of the internets oldest and easiest to use online services with more members than most online communities therefore giving you access to more prospects than your business may well be able to handle. Once you have registered with your community in this case assuming that it is AOL, you must then start to create your member profile.

Now your online profile has to be as interesting and targetted as possible, it should contain information such as your full name, world location, age, hobbies, occupation and your skills. On your profile you must provide as much information as you can provided you also keep it relevant, the reason being if you have a bad profile people are not going to want to chat however on the other hand if you have an extremely interesting profile you will get a much better response from your prospects.

The time has now come to perform a search in the member directory in order to find prospects. The ways in which you can do this are simply by entering the location, interests, age or sex of the type of prospects you are looking for, the more information you provide during your search the better quality of prospects you will find.

Once you have filtered through your search results you must then send your prospects an instant message some good hook lines that have been tried and tested by me are listed below.

“Hi there I was just taking a break at work when I did a search of the member directory and I found your profile, you have a really good one”

“Ive just been looking through your profile and I noticed you play gold I also have a very keen interest in golf”

“From reading your profile I can see that you swim alot Im currently working as a lifeguard”

“I see you currently work in network marketing so do I, how long have you been doing it for?”

After starting a conversation with your prospects you may well eventually get asked the question is this network marketing?

Below are some replies which i currently use….

“What is your understanding of network marketing? Do you know much about it?”

“Do you like network marketing?”

“Have you ever tried network marketing?”

The most important thing to remember is even if you do not promote your business during your early conversations with your new prospects you will however have built a relationship with them and can then follow up with them on a regular basis and build a certain level of trust alsoFree Web Content, when they log online you must wait around 5 minutes before sending them any instant messages.

The above is just a very short briefing of how to shake hands on the internet visit my websites listed below and let me show you the basic and advanced techniques of finding quality prospects free of charge.

ing Free Viral Traffic Using Automated Visitor Referral Systems

 by: Benjamin Choi

Would you like to get unlimited viral traffic to your site, for free?

It sounds too good to be true, of course. Many companies will promise to do this for you. The catch - you have to put a banner ad, text link or popup on your page. This is not a good deal as it will increase your traffic by only 1% to 2% on each level. Furthermore, it involves the hassle of an affiliate programme.

However, it is possible for you to get free viral traffic to your site using the visitors you have. All you have to do is make it easy for them to tell their friends about your site. (Note that this tactic may not work if your site is a boring one and your visitors have no intention of telling their friends about your site.) Normally, it is too much trouble to shoot off an email. Therefore, if you want news of your site to spread rapidly by word of mouth, you must make it easy for your visitors to refer their friends to your site. The easiest way to do this is using a form. All they need to do is fill in their name, email, and the emails of a few friends, then hit the button. A quick email will be shot off to their friends with a link to your site. To have this kind of form, all you need is a HTML editor to make the form and a script to process the mailing.

The easy part is making the form. However, having a script to process the mailing is far harder. This will definitely create plenty of problems for you, unless you find a free service which will provide the mailing script. Also, it would be nice if that service could throw in a free form-building tool.

There is no shortage of such services; but most of them cleverly include a banner ad as part of the form built for you. Having seen many such services, I have made one which DOES NOT force you to put an unwanted ad on your page!

Enter TechnoSoft21 ViralTraffic, the all-new free service which provides a form-builder and a form processing script to anyone who needs it. All you need to do is head to the site, fill out a form which generates the code for you, then copy and paste the code into your own website. When you view your site, you will see that it DOES NOT have a banner ad or any other ad on it! You will be ready to get the tidal wave of traffic to your site! To get started, just go to http://www.technosoft21.com/viraltraffic/

P.S. If for some reason or another you don’t want to use TechnoSoft21 ViralTraffic, you will probably have to construct your own form processing script in FrontPage WebBots, PHP, CGI, Perl, C, AppleScript, Python or another language. (TechnoSoft21 ViralTraffic is powered by PHP scripts.) It’s tough work, but it’s fun. If you’re game enough… go for it!

Starting out in your home based business can be a time of strict budgeting.  Many new home based business owners find it difficult to discover low-cost home based business advertising, but it does exist - right under their noses.  So how do you sniff out those low-cost home based business advertising opportunities to which you don’t have to give much money but you get an amazing return?

First, look to search engines to boost your business and is a great method for low-cost home based business advertising.  Registering your business in the major search engines is imperative to building your business.  Most people who go looking for something on the internet seek out Google, AltaVista, and Yahoo! to find a business, so for a small fee, your low-cost home based business advertising on these widely used search engines exposes you to millions of consumers.

Beyond the large search engines, another great low-cost home based business advertising opportunity involves pay-per-click engines.  You can check out applicable keywords and a search count of those keywords throughout various search engines.  Then you can compare the cost of bidding on those keywords.  The pay-per-click method is a great way for low-cost home based business advertising as long as you track your sales from the engines in order to make sure you are adjusting your bids for the best return possible.

You also can create and publish an opt-in newsletter for low-cost home based business advertising.  The great part about creating this newsletter, as people will sign up and subscribe to the newsletter, so you know they are already interested in what you have to offer.  By using the newsletter as a low-cost home based business advertising outlet, you can reach a ready-made consumer group.

Another method of low-cost home based business advertising involves exchanging links with other websites.  By finding other sites that your consumers may frequent and brokering an exchange or placing an advertisement on the page, you can gain low-cost home based business advertising through both the websites and the increased ranking on the major search engines.

Advertising locally and in e-zines is a proven method for low-cost home based business advertising.  Placing an ad in a phone book or local newspaper is not very expensive, and they reach a wide number of people.  E-zines are becoming more popular among readers, so the low-cost home based business advertising in e-zines will continue to gain you exposure.

Even if your business is on a budget, it is not hard to find low-cost home based business advertising on the internet and even in print media.  Always remember that you are the best and the lowest of the low-cost home based business advertising options available.  Be willing to market your business wherever and whenever the opportunity arises.  Otherwise, keep your eyes open for low-cost home based business advertising options as they become available to you.

Got a great home based business idea?  Wonderful.  But do you know how to protect your amazing home based business idea?  Well, protecting your home based business idea is a whole different arena.  Sometimes it is hard to think that we would need to gain protection over something as abstract as our home based business idea, but depending on the business, it could be vital.

Knowing that a home based business idea can sometimes be equated with property is vital to taking the right steps to protect your home based business idea.  If you have a great home based business idea that is vital to the business itself, then you should not put off protecting it.  You never know when someone else will have that same home based business idea later on.

Filing your home based business idea for protection under the U.S. patent, trademark, and copyright laws is imperative if your business will depend on that great home based business idea.  The difficult thing is to decide whether you should get a patent, trademark, or copyright for your home based business idea.  Each category protects a different kind of intellectual property, like your home based business idea.  Plus, your home based business idea could even require all three or none at all.

Also, do not be fooled into believing that getting a patent, trademark, or copyright for your home based business idea will guarantee a successful business.  Don’t spend money your business does not have in order to try to protect your home based business idea if you do not know that people will use the service or buy the product.

When looking at your home based business idea, you should also be cautious of others intellectual property.  Making sure you check your home based business idea against others at the U.S. Patent and Trademark office and the U.S. Copyright office can be important.  There is always some copying that goes on in business, but you want to make sure acting on your home based business idea does not place you in danger of being sued.

Protecting your home based business idea is up to you.  However, if you do have a business that relies on your home based business idea, say an invention, then you need to research protecting your home based business idea through trademark, patent, or copyright.  Also, be smart and make sure you are not stealing someone else’s concept before you move ahead with your home based business idea.

g Meta Tags Wisely to Attract Search Engines and Visitors

 by: Rajesh V. Tavakari

There are certain tricks and techniques in SEO industry, which can fetch you real quick and top ranking in short run and get banned for ever, which I am discussing in this article. Before optimizing any site, always follow code of ethics and never spam.

In this article, I will be discussing about meta tags. How to use the them effectively without spamming. Its not just another article about meta tags. Read on to find out more..

Meta Tags are very important for your website’s visibility. Many search engines read them from your site when you submit it to them.

META tags were developed and made a HTML standard for the purpose of addressing specific information about your web page that does not affect the way your page actually looks.

1. Overstuffing Metatags : Believe me or not , there are still many people and web masters around who think that meta tags are magic bullet. Its not anymore.

Mistake No. 1: Stuffing keywords in Title

Mistake No. 2: Stuffing keywords in Description

Mistake No. 3: The keyword tag.

Mistake No. 1 : Stuffing keywords in Title

I agree that its very important to include your main keywords in title tag. But there are certain things, which you should remember, as title tag is the most important tag.

  • Title tag length should be within 70 characters or 8 words
  • Title tag should be meaning full and attract visitors
  • Use one to two keywords in title tag
  • Use plurals & concentrate on keyword phrases rather than just keyword.
  • Make sure that title tag is grammatically correct

Syntax of Title Tag :

Your site title goes here

Now, lets me show you live demo on Title tag. Please search for “Office furniture uk” in Google, without double quotes. See the results. This is the first site listed under Google.

Office Furniture Home UK, Home Office Furniture London, Home …

Office Furniture UK Online Home Office and Small Office Shopping England,

London, UK. Furniture, Office, Seat, Seating, Desk, Desks …

Description: Uses full screen flash with exit button. Offering bespoke office furniture solutions for businesses….

Welcome to furniture123 - Bedroom furniture, Office furniture, …

.. desk uk, child bed, home office furniture, child furniture, dining furniture, coffee table, office chair, furniture retailer, upholstery uk, bathroom furniture …

Welcome to - Blueline Furniture - Ergonomic furniture, Custom …

.. has pioneered the manufacture of office furniture using timber … FIRA GOLD Quality Award as its furniture hire, minimum … dealer network across the UK and Channel …

MFI.co.uk

UK’s leading furniture retailer offering an extensive range of quality furniture, including home office furniture, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, beds …

These are the above first 4 results arrived for the term “Office furniture UK” in google. Now have a look over title and description. The first title does not make any sense and its stuffed with keywords, though its ranking no.1 it would have less click thorough as compared to no 2 and no 3.

A fair and attractive title would be something like :

Offers quality office furniture at discount price in UK ( Short title )

UK’s leading furniture retailer offering office furniture at discount ( Perfect one )

Look at the above two titles. It conveys some message with a perfect sense. The best possible keywords have been used and its catchy too. Just by crafting a good title you can increase your click through, even though you are not listed in top 1 or 2 positions. I hope now you must have got some idea about crafting good title. Now lets jump to next step. Yeah. Description Tag.

Description Tag :

Description tag is still important as most of the search engines still give importance to it. Sometimes even google picks up description tag. An ideal description should be somewhere within 150 to 200 characters, which correctly describes the content of the page. Make sure to place 2 to 3 important keyword phrases within first 100 characters.

Tip 1 : Make sure that description tag comes immediately after title tag.

Tip 2. Make sure that the first paragraph or the heading of the page contains 2 to 3 important keyword phrase.

Tip 3. If possible you the targeted keyword phrase in text links to get boost.

Things to avoid :

  1. Do not stuff the description tag with keywords.
  2. Do not use generic keywords, use keyword phrases
  3. Do not repeat the title in description

Keyword Tag :

The keyword tag is almost dead. Most of the web masters try to flood the key word tag with all sorts of keywords. Hardly couple of search engines gives a bit of importance to it.

Please note that, directories like Yahoo, Dmoz & About does not consider keyword tag or meta tags. I do not recommend using keyword tag. If you use the keyword tag, do not include more than 8 keyword phrases.

Do’s

  1. Include only important long keyword phrases.
  2. Don’t use generic / general terms. Be specific
  3. Use Word tracker to find good keyword phrases

Don’ts

  1. Do not spam by stuffing all the possible keywords.
  2. Do not include the keywords, which are not related to your website
  3. Do not repeat any tag ( title, description, keyword tag ) you might get boost by repeating, but never know when you will be banned.

Other important things to remember :

  1. Meta tags ( Title & Description ) should reflect the content the page. Do not put your company name in title.
  2. Do not try to target more than 2 to 3 keyword phrases per page
  3. Try to include your important keyword phrases in h1 to h6 tag.
  4. Include your important keyword phrases in tag, bold tag.
  5. You will get boost if you include your important keyword phrases in anchor tag.
  6. Do not forget to Include your important keyword phrases in first paragraph of your web page.
  7. Try to put your important keyword phrases in alt text. ( for images )
  8. Make sure that title and description is crafted neatly and attracts both visitors and search engines.

Robots (Recommended)

See the workshop report at W3 for the full text.

default = empty = “ALL”

“NONE” = “NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW”

The filler is a comma separated list of terms:

ALL, NONE, INDEX, NOINDEX, FOLLOW, NOFOLLOW.

Discussion: This tag is meant to provide users who cannot control the robots.txt file at their sites. It provides a last chance to keep their content out of search services. It was decided not to add syntax to allow robot specific permissions within the meta-tag.

INDEX means that robots are welcome to include this page in search services.

FOLLOW means that robots are welcome to follow links from this page to find other pages.

So a value of “NOINDEX” allows the subsidiary links to be explored, even though the page is not indexed. A value of “NOFOLLOW” allows the page to be indexed, but no links from the page are explored (this may be useful if the page is a free entry point into pay-per-view content, for example. A value of “NONE” tells the robot to ignore the page.

Conclusion

There are other meta tags like, Author, language, Copyright, Re-visit, classification etc. which are ignored by most of the search engines. Experience says, use the three tags wisely ( title, description & keywords ). You will be attracting both visitors and search engines. You can also use our free meta tag generator at http://www.website-promotion-ranking-services.com/meta_tag_generator.htm

Wouldn’t it be great to get some good, affordable, reliable help, even though you work out of your home? But finding workers and figuring out where to meet or when to bring them into your home office can pose some difficult juggling, personal and security issues.

A popular solution is outsourcing. When you outsource, you can hire experienced people and let them use their creative talents while you focus on other tasks. Another benefit is that the workers you hire may be more up to date on the latest information and technology in their specific fields and can be assets to your clients, as well, offering improved quality service.

OUTSOURCE

Here are the basics to outsourcing:

Focus:

Focus on outsourcing some of the major tasks of your workload. First, sit down for a breather and look around your ‘To Do’ lists and office area. What CAN you outsource? Which work seems to pile up the most?

For example, maybe you can’t seem to find time to update your website each month. Maybe your newsletter is STILL not getting out regularly. Or perhaps your direct mail campaign is not quite as direct as it should be; i.e. it is sitting directly in the same pile it was three months ago.

Then write out one-page project description for these major tasks. Focus on WHAT exactly you’d want done, WHEN and HOW the end product should turned in to you.

Take Action:

Then look for service providers. For example, with the sample tasks above, find people who can help with Internet websites, newsletter creation and sending out direct mail campaigns. Call round and surf the Internet and ask other home based business operators which companies they recommend. Check forum posts; inquire for advice and suggestions. Shop around for comparisons.

Then set up trial periods and test a couple. Remember, no one is perfect. See who you can communicate with pretty easily and who’s flexible to work as a team player. Check out the quality (and quantity) of their work. Then choose a candidate. Remember, this decision is not carved in stone. And you can always hire the other person as a back up or second helper down the road. So be kind to all who test, make decisions and keep your business moving forward.

ROI:

Make the most out of your investment and get a great return by investing in your time wisely, too. Outsourcing will hopefully free up more time for you to focus on the work you like and allow more time for marketing and advertising, to increase sales and projects. Don’t forget to brush up on your skills and keep up with the industry nowArticle Search, too. Read the latest ezines in your field and take a brush up course or workshop to improve your skills.

Network and seek out joint venture opportunities.

Outsourcing is a great way to help small businesses grow larger while still remaining at home. So reach out and give it a try!

If you work from home, chances are you already know that you’re really pulling “double duty”. You probably work on your business while doing the laundry, corralling the kids, or fixing dinner… and let’s not forget all the phone calls from family and friends expecting you to run errands or just “go out” for an afternoon of fun.

One of the hardest parts of running a home business is separating your work from your family and social life. Here are six proven ways to keep your home life running smoothly while keeping your business on track.

1. First, create a work schedule and stick with it. It may be tempting to answer personal calls during the day or take business calls after-hours, but doing this actually shows that you’re expendable – not dependable – and people will take for granted that you’ll “always be there” for any little things that come up. Even though family comes first, stay true to your business hours and resist the urge to chat with friends or pick up groceries during working hours.

2. Your friends may consider “working from home” an invitation to chat during the day or just go out for coffee or shopping for an afternoon. Make it clear that your business hours are just that – for business. Leave personal calls for after-hours, and you’ll find that your friends will gradually accept your schedule without feeling slighted.

3. Just because you have to set up a work schedule, doesn’t mean that you have to keep the same hours as everyone else. One of the benefits of working for yourself is setting your own hours to fit your most productive times. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, you’ll find that you’ll get much more done when you’re attuned to your body’s own natural rhythms. Some people work in the morning, take a break in the afternoon when the kids are home from school, and work again in the evening. Schedule your work time when you feel the most productive and you’ll find that things get done easier, faster and better than when you were dragging along during those same rigid work hours that everyone else has.

4. If getting after-hours business calls or work day personal calls is a problem, it helps to have a separate business phone line, or at least an answering machine or voice mail, to take the incoming calls. This also gives your business a more professional appearance to clients than if you and your family make and receive calls from the same phone line.

5. If at all possible, try to separate your “home office” from the rest of your home. If you don’t have the luxury of a separate room, a room partition or screen can be just as helpful. This also serves as a visual cue to family that you’re working and shouldn’t be bothered.

6. Dress and act professionally while working. Some people find it helpful to dress in casual business attire during their working hours. This reinforces that just because you’re working from home doesn’t make you any less of a professional. Answer the phone with your name, or business name, and keep your children off the phone during business hours. Also, spend money investing in the tools you need to do your job right. A cell phone, fax machine or even a budget computer can help turn your home office into a true workspace.

If you follow all of these tips and stick with them, chances are you’ll find a routine that not only makes you feel productive and active in your businessScience Articles, but also projects the message that you mean business – literally!
